A national platform uniting the engineering profession, established by the NEEA Task Force.
Engineering underpins Namibia's development
Infrastructure, mining, energy, water, housing, manufacturing and telecommunications all depend on engineering capability — as do emerging sectors such as green hydrogen and oil and gas. Namibia's national ambitions in water security, the energy transition, industrialisation, digital infrastructure and climate resilience are, at root, engineering undertakings.
Yet engineering achievement is usually recognised only inside individual organisations. NEEA exists to make that work visible, valued, benchmarked and permanently recorded.
One platform, many mandates
Namibia's profession is represented by respected organisations including the Engineering Council of Namibia, the Engineering Professions Association, the Namibian Society of Engineers, the Association of Consulting Engineers of Namibia, Namibia Women in Engineering, the Construction Industries Federation and the Chamber of Mines.
Each fulfils an important mandate. What has been missing is a single platform bringing the profession together across all disciplines. NEEA complements these organisations — it does not replace them, and it is not a new professional society.

How NEEA is run
The Awards are delivered by the NEEA Task Force, a temporary organising body convened for this purpose. It operates through six standing committees, each with an approved Terms of Reference and budget, reporting to the Task Force at every meeting.
One endorsing organisation hosts the secretariat and administers a dedicated ring-fenced account under a written hosting agreement. All payments require dual authorisation, and an independent financial review is undertaken annually.
