Submit a Nomination

A short first stage. Full evidence is requested only from shortlisted nominees.

Two stages

Proportionate by design

Excellent engineers and projects should not be lost because the entry burden is excessive. Stage 1 is deliberately short. Only shortlisted nominees are asked for full supporting evidence.

Stage 1
A concise nomination and evidence summary. Around 20 minutes.
Stage 2
Shortlisted nominees submit full supporting evidence for adjudication.
Before you start

What you will need

  • The nominee's name and an email address or phone number (for a project, a contact person if you have one)
  • The award category and engineering sector
  • A short motivation — what was done, and what changed
  • Any figures, results or references that evidence the claim
Cost
Free. There is no fee to nominate in any category.
Self-nomination
Permitted in all categories open to public nomination, except the TVET categories, where the institution must nominate.
Dates
Opening and closing dates will be announced once approved.

Nomination FAQ

Can I nominate myself?
Yes, in all categories open to public nomination, except the TVET categories (Outstanding TVET Student/Graduate and Outstanding TVET Trainer), which must be nominated by the TVET institution. Lifetime Achievement is recommended by the judging panel and confirmed by the Task Force.
Will more nominations improve a nominee’s chances?
No. Judging is on merit, not on the number of nominations. A nominee put forward once is judged exactly like one put forward many times, so please nominate each person or project once.
Does the nominee need to know?
No. The vetting committee contacts the nominee, or the project contact person, to confirm the details and collect the evidence.
What is a People or Project nomination?
A People nomination is for an individual: please give the nominee's email or phone. A Project nomination is for a project, firm, institution or client: name a contact person if you can, and attach documents. The Awards page marks every category. The TVET Student/Graduate and TVET Trainer awards are nominated by TVET institutions only; the TVET Project award can be nominated by anyone.
Multiple nominations?
Yes. Submit each one separately so it can be motivated on its own merits.
Is my submission confidential?
Submissions are seen only by the secretariat, the vetting committee and the judging panel. Judges keep all entries, scores and deliberations confidential until the results are announced at the gala.
Commercially sensitive evidence?
Say so in the submission. The judging panel can assess material in confidence and will not publish it.
